Can it be?
Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz , California
A picture of where I grew up surfing.
As it goes in my world, things get thought about over and over and over, yet nothing gets done. So a new way is needed if I’m to get things done the way I want them to do. This isn’t to say I do not have good ideas, I do.what it means to me is the old way of thinking and not doing isn’t working anymore. It’s not working because I’m getting frustrating with the lack of movement in body and soul.
As the Summer has now past we are starting to see the arrival of the Winter storms coming in off the Pacific. This picture is the latest one hitting tonight and with it brings lots of rain on the coast with high winds and deep snow expected in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Along the coast along the Santa Cruz Mountains, we are bracing for heavy rains and could see flooding and mud slides. The waves are already pounding and are building by the minute. South Lake Tahoe and the ski resorts along the Northern and Central Sierra could see there biggest snow amounts yet this year of over 4 feet of new snow. So wax up the Skis and get ready!
Here’s a few pictures of Lake Thoe after a snowfall a few years back just to get in the mood
As we floated down the Truckee River, i realized there really is nothing quite like floating down a mountain river with friends and some refreshing cold beer. Ok so the Truckee river, which flows from Lake Tahoe, through the canyon past Sqaw Valley, isn’t exactly a physically challenging one, but that’s the point. As you float through the canyon, you are completely absorbed, soaking in the beautiful scenery along the way. The weather, warm but not too terribly hot, is a welcome relief to the scorching temperatures of the 100 degrees of the Valleys. As you wind your way through some mild ‘rapids’ there really is plenty of time to relax in between. It can become a bit busy, but its a great way to make new friends along the way. At the end of the run, is a very cool bar and grill, where it all comes together. The river is about a 3 hour drive from San Francisco, and well worth the drive
Till next time, enjoy it out there
